1966 EZ Camper
Breaks my heart to have to do this as i've spent a lot of time and money on this bus that i planned to be a 'keeper'
I bought the bus as a rolling shell 3 1/2 years ago as an unregistered import, it came over from california approx 2007, everything has been replaced with either new or rebuilt parts..
below is a list of whats been done..
Body: - Lower rear corners, rear arches, inner/outer cills + strenghthening panels, front offside wheelarch, front valence, front floor corners, steering box raised chassis section, part cargo floor, minor repairs to rear of inner front wheel wells, battery tray, cargo door repair panels not yet installed but are there for new owner.
The underside has been stonechipped, primered and painted in the origional Velvet green, all parts are painted and its very clean underneath
Mechanics :- Engine has done approx 2000 miles, rebuilt 1600 twinport, new complete petronix ignition, all new fuel lines, rebuilt and new ancillaries. Straight axle conversion using a one off 4 Link setup with adjustable coilovers, new gearbox mounts, new bus nosecone, type 3 rear brakes with new shoes and wheel cylinders. New 4" narrowed front beam with height adjusters and flipped spindles, new KYB short shocks, all new link bars, steering arms, pitman arm etc, raised steering box, front brakes reconditioned with new shoes/wheel cylinders etc.. new quickshift kit fitted and all new bushes for gear selector rods.
General :- Complete new wiring loom, new brake lines thruout, new triple chromed sprintstar wheels, new tyres (front 165/50/15) (rear 185/60/15) New glass all around with all new rubbers, new door seals, wolfsburg lap belts, bench seat, new headlamps rebuilt in us spec, new indicators units/lenses, rear light clusters/lenses are og, still runs on us spec red light setup. New cables thruout (throttle/handbrake/clutch) new bumper irons front/rear
Interior :- genuine EZ 3/4 rock n roll bed, buddy seat, table, wardrobe, gas/12v electrolux 122 fridge in mint condition, new flooring/chequred lino, all new curtains and cab divider, bamboo roof lining, 12v lighting with leisure battery, 12v power points, genuine HEHR windows rebuilt with new toughend glass, gas system installed for fridge + provisions for propex heater, BBQ outlet, hinged table on cargo door, cupboard space next to fridge, space for sink if required later etc..
It had been involved in a fire before i bought it, fortunatly only superficial damage occoured. This bus definatly has character! the roof is a little dented but the gutters are absolutly mint and has no rust at all, very very very solid bus and the only body filler in it is where the new panels are blended.
The only thing left to do is paint it, if shiney buses are your thing if not blend in the og paint/ primer with green and leave it ratty/burnt, use a little anchor wax once a year and it wont rust!...
There are a couple of small jobs that could do with taking care of, there is a shuddering from the o/s/r brake when applied hard, the handbrake needs sorting and i have the panels to repair the bottoms of the cargo doors which are a little tatty at the bottoms, other than that all the hard work has been done....
ive probably done less than a thousand miles since ive owned it!.. This is one of those genuinly regrettable sales..
