1966 Fully restored split screen camper with Deluxe trim (£35,000 ONO)
Thebus was originally imported by FBI Swansea from dry state Carson City, Nevada, USA. The bus was purchased 4 yearsago and has had a full, bear metal restoration carried out by a professional body shop (Autobodytech, Nailsworth). Unlike most restored buses, this one still has the original panels and retains the original running gear, with the original gearbox (rebuilt). The engine is 1,600 twin-port with twin 34 carbs. The interior has been fully reupholstered in cream with blue piping by Bromsgrove Auto trimmers with a full rock’n’roll bed. New Safari windows were fitted to the front with all windows having new seals to ensure the bus is as good as when it left the showroom.
Thebus has been fitted with front and rear Wolfsburgseatbelts, and a retro-sound stereo with IPod connection, hands free with amps and speakers – all hidden to ensure the bus retains its period looks.
Therestoration was a passion and took over 18 months of dedication - This bus will turn heads. Digital pictures, and receipts are available that document every stage of the restoration process and are available on request.
