1955 - Early 55 Patina Standard Oval - £12,000.00 - obo

Early 1955 (ribbed doors and heart lights) matching numbers Standard Oval with original cloth interior. Something of a patina ‘survivor’ that is not 100% original but has plenty of character and wears its scars well.
Original 30hp engine and crash gearbox. Cable brakes in good functioning order.
Mechanically excellent, recently completed a 600 mile trip from Denmark without a hitch
Interior is in great condition, with a few wear holes here and there. Has original short headlining. Carpets that are left have seen better days and I’m not sure if these would have originally been fitted.
Car is completely solid with original floorpans but has had heater channel closing panels replaced at some point in the past. Being a Scandinavian car it has been heavily Dinitrol treated to ensure it stays this way.
Has been repainted many years ago in this blue (similar to Dove Blue). Would have been grey when it left the factory and the original paint appears to still be present under the blue. Also has some touched up areas where it’s been repaired. Has also had holes drilled for trim at some point, so I fitted trim, as I think incorrect trim is better than holes. Original wings all round, albeit with some rust and an extra hole or two where larger lights have been fitted in the past. Body has a few dings and dents here and there. Doors shut well and have correct gaps all round.
4 new crossplies but only 3 wheels match, and it’s currently missing a spare (I can supply one)
This is a great, rare car, that has most of it’s features as a Standard, ready to be enjoyed now the weather is getting better. It’ll be in the cars for sale area at VolksWorld on Sunday if you’d like a close look there.
