Posted this on Samba and it appears 56 and 57's had these so I think I know the answer to this (they're factory) but can you European (and UK but that's a small number of us!) chaps with pre Aug 55 Cabrio's confirm for me that the small curve in the lip at the top of my windscreen frame above the pull down brackets are factory made?

See images below. Out of interest, anyone know exactly why they're there?

My `58 has them. I suppose they are meant to help guide the roof latches into position.
