It was the massive flat area under where the chrome headlight rim would go that looks all wrong to me, it's nowhere near as large on 'real' oval/split wings (I have a pair sat not five feet from me...). The ones you just posted a photo of dont look spot on in that area either, but they look a lot better.

I posted (very nicely) on The Samba about this ages ago, and just didn't bother mentioning it again as I could feel the hate building up. :lol:

Would be nice to see a painted up repro next to a painted up genuine to see how they compare.
