Good afternoon all, I am after a bit of advice, I have recently brought a 64 deluxe actually through the classified section and I was wondering what is the best way to try and find out the history of the vehicle, I have ordered the birth certificate but it would be nice to find out some of it's history

I don't think that there's an official way of finding out its history, due to privacy etc. But you could try an image search of the number plate, that can sometimes throw up some interesting things, other than that it's just taking it to shows until someone tells you they used to own it 😂

Good morning Rob, so I have now got the birth certificate back and it was built in October 64 and delivered to Ramsgate
The original colour was Fontana Grey, but I won't be changing it back, the classic car company it was sold from in 2016 were less than helpful, but ha ho, but in the file of paper work there are receipts from a parts company in Sydenham, so maybe a bit of a lead , if anyone lives in this area it would be helpful to find a local vw club maybe
