I think the Eurotunnel is good for speed, it only takes about half an hour to cross. But I think it's more expensive. The Ferry gives you a nice break if you've been driving a long time, gives you a chance to eat and stretch your legs.

We have just booked for the Classic Le-Mans and we found that the Eurotunnel has worked out alot cheaper than the Ferrys. It maybe just for the period of the event and the ferrys are cashing in on it. Then it may be in normal times the ferrys are a better.

Yes, for Eurotunnel is more expensive, but the car will go in the train, with passenger includ, price for eurotunnel depending hour you take a ticket, 75/80€, is an experience for life, in ferryboat the price is minor, but pay for car and passenger 45€ more or less.
The time for eurotunnel is 45 minutes, and for ferryboat is 1h30m. Too is good with the people in board.

Fernando- the Eurotunnel train takes approximately 35 minutes. It's very simple, you just sit in your car and read a newspaper or something! There isn't anywhere else to go :roll:

...though perhaps the most meritorious drive of the event was by Fernando Palmela and his daughter, Sónia. They came all the way from Cascais, near Lisbon in Portugal in their 1955 Deluxe Beetle, taking three days and covering approximately 2.400klms in the process. Fernando had been aware of the beetle for nine years and, when the elderly owner finally decided to sell the car three years ago for €1500, he couldn´t stuff the money in an envelope quick enough! Themoral og the story is that good things come to house who wait.

Took my trusty Mexican 1200cc bug to East Germany/Berlin when the wall was still there, Spain twice, Southern France including the pyrenees both sides:thumbup: , GB, Austria and Italy.Those were the days.
