Built June ‘56 and delivered on the 23rd of July ‘56 (To Mr Bertie Akerberg, Hagerstown, Stockholm )

I have owned this VW for OVER 20 YEARS and have been the only UK registered owner, The car was imported in 1998 and has been well looked after and always garaged in my ownership.
I have some nice original documents/History with the car:

-: Original sales sheet stamped from the dealer.

-: A Pressed steel ID plate/tag which would have be attached to the car when delivered to the owner. This has the chassis number and new owner address and registration number address stamped into it.

-: The Service Book displaying the chassis and engine numbers (which match in the car)

-: The owners manual (written in Swedish) including the original Blue plastic folder. and another smaller VW folder with local VW dealers

-: The VW supplied tool kit, jack, period warning Triangle and the spare wheel even has a 1950s tire still fitted! (Obviously not road legal due to age).

Engine/Gearbox:
30hp Matching numbered engine and gearbox (June ‘56).
The Engine was FULLY rebuilt in March 2019 using a German gasket kit. The VW part number are still visible on the pushrod tubes! And has the full and correct tin work in the original paint and the VW heat exchangers,Thermostat fan ring is correct and working. Distributor, Carburettor and fuel pump we’re checked and cleaned. The exhaust was replaced with VW heritage supplied unit. The engine runs perfectly choke cable etc all working and correct. The manual points were replaced in distributor with Pertronix electronic ones. The condenser has been left in it original position and the old points and wiring have been saved. Both were working before being swapped. New 6v battery installed March 19.
The engine runs greats pulls in all gears drives like new.

The Spilt case Gearbox dated 06’56 was also removed cleaned and the drive tubes paint in black and the body left in raw finish. The oil and gators were replaced in March ‘19. All gears select and no noises or issues.

Interior:
ALL paint inside the car is the original Horizon Blue this also includes the bonnet area and engine area and inner deck Lid and bonnet . The front inner wing arches are still in the original paint.
The front Seats are showing their age but again original. headliner is better and original. Original rubber floors matts.The carpet was replaced some time ago and the aluminium trims around reserve tap and lower heating vents were transferred over to the new carpet.

Body/Paint:
All Swedish VW’s of this period came supplied with a thick coat of underseal which has been removed and then painted in gloss black so looks untouched. Same with the heater channels the underseal was removed to revile clean metal.
Floorpans and heater channels are original. Along with all body panels.
The exterior was painted about 15 years ago in the correct Colour and still gets a great shine. There are a few areas of chips and very small dents around the corners of the wings this was caused mainly when stored in a family garage. And the rear wings where the running boards attaches at the bottom have stone chips from the road which show very minor rust (not holed - just surface).
Spare wheel well is original not rusted (solid and has the original cable tabs) Has a light coating of Red Oxide (15 years ago).

wheels:
Original untouched two tone paint x5. Michelin ZX tyres

Running Gear:
All joints greased checked. All brake drums are the correct oval year, Both front wheels brake cylinders were replaced with correct 2 bolt units and brake fluid replaced along with gearbox oil. Fuel tank cleaned and the pepcock cleaned and working.

Ready for the summer just needs to be driven. Only reason for the sale is I have two other projects which take most of my time.....
