I absolutely hate obvious 'age related' plates ie: UXA, UXB etc, hence the change to a slightly nicer and shorter plate.

Yes but numbers then letters are 1959/60 on, what you had was correct, but what you have now isn't:wink:

Yes, George started the trend with the yellow refelective plate cable-tied to the back bumper. I loved it so much, I thought I would always keep it there  (As Will says, it was on there for the MoT the day before the REME show).

I absolutely hate obvious 'age related' plates ie: UXA, UXB etc, hence the change to a slightly nicer and shorter plate. I searched and searched for a 5-digit plate with '47' in it but couldn't find one. If I do, I'll buy it and get it changed.
I like the look of the pre-63 digits on the new larger plate- it makes the car look a bit more vintage 'British' UserPostedImage I made sure you can still see the pre-'49 engine lid pressing behind the plate.

I painted the plates on the 48 when I had it. I like when a rectangular plate sits on the bumper, leaving the pressed decklid in full view or simply painting the plate onto the raised decklid area. Again, a horrible 'age-related' number though. We saw waves of CAS, MAS, BAS et all....!  Picture 1.jpg You have insufficient rights to see the content.

Maybe Rich likes his car to be legal, he wants an MOT I expect. The light must shine on the plate, clever VW designed it to be that way too:wink:

All age related plates are are plates that were never issued at the time.
