No you don't.....

Just out of interest and slightly off-topic, but I'm intrigued- Who is Ovaltine? Does anybody know her? Are there any pics of her car on the forum?

Cheers,
Rich.

Back to this ragtop split, its nice although rather radical for this site's classifieds I'd thought. I prefer the 'before' to the 'after' myself (except the colour).
The way to end a good day out with your Split is with an Ovaltine!

Hi
does the all seeing eye know what happened to an oval dashed split that I flogged about eight years ago, it was in grey primer when I had it over the top of I assume chestnut brown, it was from Sweden and unregistered, there was very little rust to speak of although it did have some odd damage on the right hand gutter, the interior with the exception of the headliner was extremely good, and yes I should have kept it for a rainy day or just stuck a motor in it and got it going, the guy I sold it to, Dave the welding fiend from Ringwood, lost track of it too, Bill.

There are rather a few early ovals around now that have had split-windows welded in to make them appear as zwitters, the window being the only difference, so with a chassis number change who's to know:?

Similarly, there are some early cars that have had the sunroof added, taken from a wreck. There is known history with the car discussed here, so its probably the genuine article, a rare sunroor zwitter.

The problem with customising a car so rare is that how does a person who does not know the car know where the added bits stop and the original kicks-in:?:

If I'd seen this car at a show or whatever I'd been sure that the rear window and sunroof were added along with the other changes as the genuine article is so rare and desirable:wink:

well it hasnt had a window panel welded in only the roof!
thats the first thing i checked and its all original!
and all the the custom stuff is easily put back i made a point of not butchering the car!
and the custom side of things doesnt really matter that much its more that the car is still around!
and not sitting on a scrap pile somewhere!

I certainly didn't doubt the originality of your particular car, it has a known history as we've seen from the earlier picture. I didn't know the sunroof is retro fitted, so the car is not as rare as I thought.

You have a nice car, though not to my taste, I'm a stock purist and this is a stock site, obviously its better as it is now than serving as a chicken shed in a field or rotting away in someone's garden – it would just look more desirable to me and most here, I expect as a full stock split.

Good luck with your sale
