Looks nice Robb! You must really have to bite your tounge on here sometimes when people are talking about lowering...
Whats your experience with damage underneath?

you'd think so, but no, at the end of the day, i like my resto cal's, but i also like my stockers, and i respect this forum for that. Its a stock forum afterall, i wouldnt come here to chat anything otherwise.
my 62 ragtop is a fairly original car, and i never wanted to do anything that wasnt reversible, or harmful to it. i can hand on heart say i have never scraped the car in any way, and the sparewheel well and floor pan is untouched. i wanted to subtly lower it, but not at the cost of wrecking the underside.
yes the car has a 4" narrowed beam with shock towers that do not touch the inner wings, but it also runs 5.5 inch wide wheels, so helps to tuck them in slightly- all to avoid any rubbing on the og paint/underseal :d it also gets on the ramp at mot time!
when i got the car 12 years ago, a 1600 engine had been fitted, and people at the time thought i was nuts to remove it, and fit the original engine! i also converted it back from 12 to 6v  but thats the way i like them. so the only mods is the beam, dropped spindles & wheels.......i also have all the original ones tucked up in my lockup, and you never know, one day they may come back out
at the end of the day, i am very open minded about the vw scene, and im not screwed down to one type of style. i didnt have a plan as such when i bought the 67, but seeing how original it was, there was only one option. especially as stockers seem a minority these days.
