The Karmann Archives
While trying to date my own early convertible, I spent hours looking into the early history of VW convertibles. Trying to identify various early prototypes, reading documentation and studying old photographs. This has all led to another little project that I've been working on - The Karmann Archives.
Volksworld 2025 - did the new venue work?
The VolksWorld Show has long been one of the highlights in the air-cooled VW scene, attracting enthusiasts from around the globe to admire beautifully restored Beetles, Buses, Karmann Ghias, and a variety of custom creations. The Radclyffe Roadster
In 1945 Colonel Michael A. McEvoy was responsible for all REME repair workshops throughout the British zone and had a history of being involved in motorsport. Before the war he had built racing motorcycles and worked on the development of superchargers for Mercedes Benz. He had also seen the KdF-car in Berlin and was aware of the Volkswagen factory, so as soon as the Americans had moved out and the British had moved in, he gave the orders to set up a REME workshop on the site.
