I've been on the Lavenham link, looking at the accomadation and started wondering if anybody has gone ahead and booked a hotel for the weekend yet?

After the good laugh we had at B.C. I was wondering if it was worth getting together and booking a number of rooms for members of this forum in the same hotel ? Means we can all relax at the end of the day and enjoy a few beers together without having to worry about taxis home.

I know people have different budgets and some may be bringing their famillies etc. but what's the initial reaction ?

I didn't see any fliers at BC. :cry:

HO was advertised there and that is 2 years away, Lavenham is only 11 months away!

All hotels in BC were full 12 months before, come on Boys whats happening?:shock:

I hope some of these rooms don't appear on Ebay or The Samba to the highest bidder.:cry:

Personally I would now prefer to see no more information on the net about the show.
Everyone knows about it. I think thats enough for now.

If 2 of us managed to get a group together of 40 pre63 vws and 100 people to meet in Wolfsburg just with a few phone calls then it can be done easily.

If we have to drive there and back each day as we would to a day show ie. Stonor or Stanford then so be it.

The UK scene has conclusively proved now that it is only the one day vintage stock shows that do not get swamped by buses and campers.

Lavenham is only a small village like Camberg. But we have 1000's more vw owners on its doorstep!

I for one do not want to see it go like Camberg.
24hr security are not something any of us want at a vw show just to keep a check on the idiots who shouldnt even be there!

I am starting to realise that it is always going to be a fight to keep our small corner of the world stock.
But If thats what it takes then thats what we'll do.

(I speak for myself of course and not the team :wink: :twisted: )

So don't panic, there are plenty of places around there to stay but if anyone does have trouble finding somewhere (nearer the time) we'll do our best to help find a room just short drive away.

You must have the wrong Lavenham!
A lot of hotels there won't take bookings a year in advance, and The Swan does NOT have a block booking for that weekend!

Oh yeah, silly me, I must have the Lavenham sinfonia or Press or something else! Suffolk is such a big place.

why dont someone organise a little get together pre lavenham in autumn in lavenham, just a secret meet for this site only(mrsherbie) or even at a drive in somewere more central like the yanks do.
