My 1957 beetle has,nt ben running too well recently.
It had been great during the summer and in keeping with the way it has been driven all it,s life,I would,nt take it out, unless I knew it was going to be nice sunny weather.
(Not a lot of that in UK this summer).
Anyway,I,d put it off long enough and I,d done everything I could but still could,nt understand what was wrong.
So,I,d found this guy in Nottingham that looked like the proffesor from the "Back to the future" movies.
This chap knows a thing or two having spent all his life around old cars and VW in particular.
It was most interesting and not a little funny, when upon raising my Beetle on his car lift, that he uttered"This car must have had a full body off"...
I stopped him there and said,"No!,It Has,nt.It,s as it was when it left Wolfsburg".
It,s just that he,d not seen a car with the cadmium plate, still on the chassis bolts.
Remembering,he looks like "The proffesor" ,the look on his face was one to behold.
I don,t think I,ll forget that look for a very long time.
I laughed a lot but I guess it,s one of those VW stories, where you really had to be there.
"GREAT SCOTT!" 😃 😃
