Its only 4 days they started the welding on my Heb and even I don't recognise my Hebmuller anymore!!
I can not break up my holidays on the Bahamas  to come over to see with my own eyes, but I know that under your leadership it all will come to a good end!!! (WITHOUT filler this time!)
Congrats for the people working to the Hebmuller!!!
The people you found to work at the car?
Are you sure they are car mechanics?
They look plastic surgents to me!!!
Give those people some cigars and some beers!!!
See you in two weeks and keep up the good work!

Hey ET, You should be on the beach now, not behind Erik's pc !
Tell Erik and Michelle , I still have the key's from the beach house!
BTW Before you come home, fill up the fridge with my favorite beers,  because after this job, i will need a vacation too !!

Trust me, Armin and opa are doing a great Job !
We have alot of fun, Opa should be on stage   instead behind a plastic surgent table !
I go now to the workshop , enjoy your vacation, I think you needed a vacation after seeing that filler artwork from (m)..astico

Can anyone tell me , the use of these holes, on both side's on the window frame????

HMMM!! That means H.O 2017 then
Is this a massive wind up for Rob again, or was ET's Heb really, badly restored the first time :?:

What 2017 ??? The car will be ready this year !
Realy the heb was bad restored the first time , we where not able to mount the trims or door handles because ther was to many filler on the car ! Alot off rusted metal was still under the filler !
We where removing the paint and filler in a chemical bad,
Normaly a car stay's one day in that bad to remove the paint , ET's Heb was 10 day's in that bad ! We found a place on the rear decklid with 1,5 CM Filler !
Can anyone send me a picture from the welding between the windowframe and inner fender ! I need to now if the welding was still visable after the hebs where painted ( I asked already Christian, but no reaction, maybe he's on the same Island as ET !!

Thanks,

Hey Guido, I have mailed you over this marvelous site my mailadress.
Try again.

I think those holes are from mounting the rear cowl. I have a pict from the factoryassembly line where you can see sort of mounting frame that has a triangular form. It fits like in the starterhole in rear apron, and divide in 2 other bars towards the side of the car aprox to the pointed holes. I am not sure that it is from that but a guess.
The pict I have is to big to post here and if i compress it, you can not see the frame anymore? .

The pict is a scan out of the hebmuller book sonderkarosserien aus deutschland, dieter gunther und walter wolf.;on page 23, the car in the midle of the frame right under the nr 8 sign

In the foreground you see a body that is without the front cowl....and without the folded seam on the doorpost...?
To me that is the proof that the cars are delivered from VWW to Hebmuller without the roof..I see no reasen to open that seam to assemble a heb. 😳

On the left you see a car with a jig to mount the frontwindowframe.
The bodys are the newer bodytype with toolshelf in the front.
So the pict is taken late 49 or early 50.
Flat front pannel for sure until car 201, shelf front pannel fur sure from car 309 ( there is a gap in my list.)

Armin and opa can sing a song now: " weir zijn goe bezig.."

As soon as I find something on those holes, I will let you know.
Greetings. Peter

Guido,

Those two holes over the windscreen... next to the where the top latch bolts up... are for a center mount visor... similar to Rometsch. Do you know what I mean? These visors are the same for both sides of the car.

I can take photos if you need.

Hi Eric,

That would be a great help!!
When ET bought the Heb, no sunvisors and mirror in the car !
He found a correct mirror a few years ago !
I thought they had original sunvisors, but maybe I'm wrong??
Can you send some detailled pictures from the sunvisors to [email protected] !
Thanks in advance Eric,

Guido

Just back from the Bahamas  so I went over to Opa, Armen and Guido(absent) to to see my Hebmuller!
What I saw there said in one word: unbelievable!!!
A Hebmuller made out of steel and not out of filler!!!
I am very happy I didn’t sold the Hebmuller after the horrible Dutch experience! 😞
Terrific job!!!
And even cheaper than in Holland!!
It seems to be that the price of filler was very high in the period the Heb was undergoing restoration in Holland thats why!!!
Atleast you don’t have to be afraid anymore to close a door or bonnet/decklid and loose a bit of filler for the simple reason that there is no filler anymore!!! Its better trust me!!! 😎
This is how a restoration of a body should look like! Cutting out bad parts and replace with steel or replace with genuine parts (not 1303 steel, Mrs Herbie shame on you! If you do like this doesn’t mean to say that we are doing these things! 😳 What do you think of us?)

PS for Guido: I did not forget to fill up the fridge with beer!
So enjoy when you go there!

PS 2: Thanks to Opa, Armen and last but not last Guido to transform that can of filler into a real Hebmuller again!!!
