i am going to put a cd player in my 61 beetle, when i got the car it had been converted to 12 volts but is still using the stock generator as far as i'm aware(must have a 12 volt voltage regulator??). im going to mount the cd player under the dash so its hidden from view to keep the stock look, and just run 2 simple speakers through it whcih will be mounted in the 2 rear panels. my only real concern is if my trusty old generator will cope with the increased load. im not putting an amp in or anything drastic like that, just the 2 speakers which will be getting a max of 40 watts each from the head unit. so if anyone knows much about this kinda thing, any relys would be great :)
