With a little luck we got the chance to buy this rare Tucher. The car was built in 1948 by Carrosserie Tucher for the suisse Army. The car was stocked in a barn in the mid 1970s. Never welded before and for a 60 year old car very solid. Now it is time to collect informations, details and the small missing parts for this rare vehicle which was the first serial coachbuild car based on a Volkswagen.

Bjorn, I think you have a GPS system with the voice of Ferdinand Porsche or Heinz Nordhoff in it...:lol: , How else you can find such nice and rare cars.

Great find Herr.S. Is that the oldest surviving one? I think there is one more '48 in existence.
47 Beetle, 56 UK Karmann Cabriolet, 56 UK Beetle, 57 UK Type 2, 59 UK Beetle, 66 UK Fastback.

I know Ray's Tüscher in California and Patrick*s beautiful Oval dashboarded which he presented at the last Hessisch Oldendorf Show. Patrick has also signed in with a 1949 Tüscher for our meeting in 2009. I don*t know who has the other 1948, maybe it is the same car. One interesting thing is, that the blue one has a complete different roof with an angle fixed mechanic and a larger cutout-section. Even the loovers are different if you compare it with the later ones. As you see - all informations about the suisse military beetlles are welcome.

Hi all of you,
the other Tucher wich is in the staates is a 1949 but it looks like a 1948 modell.
This is at the moment the oldest known Tucher.
Bjoern and i had the look to get the car and we will see if we keep it or if we will sell it.

Cheer and beautiful purchase. I was with the sale of this car and did not know which had bought it. I have of them already two thus I preferred to let it leave. I had an little idea nevertheless purchaser and it is right. it is indeed oldest of Tuscher with several differences with that of Ray and mine. normally tuscher with product these car in 1949. I work on my 49 for Hessisch, I hope arrived. I hope that you will keep the car it really remains a model very interressant.

I an sorry, but the restauration will not be started until next summer. Two Bananas, two Hebs, a Denzel and a Lawerence has to be done before ;-)
