I happen to think that in most cases the resto-cal people are much more fanatical about originality,

I agree with you there! I´ve learned more than I ever wanted to know about correct for the year valence pressings by reading Restowagen. Lots of buffers over there, for sure.:d

Seems like lots of us are over on their site already, and vice versa, so there´s not much point adding resto cal content here. Its only a shame when we miss out on seeing some of the cracking restoration work being done.

Sorry but got to say something here! I'm taking it your comment is tougue in check Stu but in any case, that's the exact type of comment that brings about the 'them Vs us' arguements.

I don't know how old you are (I would guess under 30, maybe 25) as you clearly haven't been around the scene very long. Why? Because it's a very long shot to call a set of OG Porsche Fuch "cheesy", especially when one considers the Fuch is one of the best looking alloy wheels ever made! Besides that, roofracks were and are an original VW dealer supplied item so if your fanatical about original factory cars how can they be stupid?

As for 90s and gay, I think you better have a look at the quality of some Resto-Cal cars compared with what was being built 15 years or so ago.

I could make a small fortune selling tickets, what with Sky having a monopoly on all the big fights, people would fall over themselves to see a good ruck.

Strange that, especially as it has it's roots in the 60's/70's :?

With the forum rules re-instated  I'll try my best to keep to 'em, keep up the good work.

Like I said, I don't really want an argument - especially if you're going to make claims that you can't actually back up with a real car . 50 Karmann's 50 Karmann & Harveypj's 58 are about as nice and correct as stock cars get, both backed up with Volksworld features and trophies - so there are fanatical stock people out there. However, I still feel that the majority of stock people are happy with less than original cars that they can happily use regularly without worrying about them.

It's served its purpose, but I'm locking this topic now before it turns into the same old argument again.
