Hi guys. I'm kind of a newcomer around here. I'm a Venezuelan guy in Argentina, and while hunting around for buying a relatively nice 55-56, i saw this in a local website for vintage cars. I don't have much experience on "hardcore" vintage pre '54 VW, other than what i can read and browse around on the net, but i found a bit appealing this link:

What makes it be a better or worse copy? Period accesories for example?
Such a replica is somehow valuable or is just a worthless hybrid?

so if you search a perfect replica go to Dr.D her in forums and buy one of his kits and take a 49-52 split and cut it up for makeing a good copy of a real one :d :beer: :wink:

Of course... i can figure that out... Being honest, i'm not into such a project right now...no space, no money, and still a lot of things to learn!

Just for a knowledge matter, is out there any comparision page between an original Heb and some replica? i've got some info on mid and late 50's models, but not much on early models....

I have a reasonable doubt on what to buy now, but will post it in a better place...

I don't think it is the same manufacturer, due to the fact that this one is much better well made, than the green car in the other pictures...

found it in this Blog, that says this company "Carrosseria Bean" makes exact copys of the original Heb's

The first Sunday of March I went to a Classic Car Meet at the Estação da Luz in Sao Paulo and came across this rare model, it is one of the most elaborate replicas Hebmuller I've seen, the vehicle was perfect in every angle that can be observed and was made from a 1951 VW chassis. According to its current owner Mr. Renato, this vehicle has been carefully prepared by a specialist called Tinker "Carroseria Bean" in the São Paulo neighborhood of Casa Verde. Look carefully at the detailed interior and exterior, the engine is also the original from a 1951 VW. There is no knowledge that there is some original model VW Hebmuller that was imported to Brazil in its production date: December 1948 to February 1953, with only 696 cars produced, and today it is estimated that no more than 100 vehicles Hebmuller survived and are in several countries as part of collections. Just study the original. On pictures, at meetings, on period pictures etc.
When you know how a real Heb looks in detail you can tell the differences when you see a replica.
