If its from another car, it looks as though its been taken from the back of a 1940's Austin 16 judging by the window's shape:?

Fancy a 1950 for €36,500:shock:

Or maybe a 1946 for €71,400::shock: :shock:

Hello soon to the €100,000 split-window Beetle

$100,000 US for a '55 Cabrio

So is $100,000 so crazy? I just finished a full resto of a '66 sedan. Starting with a rust free car from Alabama needing just rear floor pans I spent $13,000 on parts, paint job and the minimum of sub-contract services. Doing everything else myself.

It took me 10 months full time working alone, and leaving no stone unturned. If I put a modest labour rate on my time I would be into $70,000 and I don't have professional labour rates or overheads.

Of course that still begs the question who would actually pay $100,000. Someone won an ebay auction today, paying $13,000 for an old Nintendo games station with a couple of rare games. makes $100,000 for a VW very attractive IMHO.

I was offered a rust free '49 sedan for $10,000 last year and passed it up partly because I thought I was getting a bad deal  the seller had bought it few weeks before for $5000 and moreover, I know how much time I spent on the internet searching out '66 parts and they are slightly more available than '49 parts.

Oh well.

Remember my above statement in 8-10 years time.

It'll be £100,000+ for a real decent 1940 - 1952 split window Beetle and £150,000+ for the same period cabrio

'50 Karmann, you should have kept your smashing '47 Split and your excellent '50 Karmann

I'd have laughed if someone had told me a few years ago that my Tatra T87 would be worth in excess of £100,000 now, but that's what one passed through auction for recently

Never mind though if old VW's are getting beyond your reach.

Get into Morris Minors – prices for these seem to be falling away, but they still don't sell.
You can pick up a 'nice' 1956 I've seen for sale, garaged and service history for £975, another local to me, a 1954 for £1,000, both with MOT semaphores, split windscreen, small rear window – the lot.

Compare to oval window Beetle prices of the same years:wink:

Love it and hate it, I'm rendered speechless on this ultra rare 1947 😶

At least it has the correct NON SHINY paint :!:

https://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=923540

Actually though, at around £20,000 the asking price is not too bad if all the correct running parts are sold with the car :d
In fact its damn cheap compared to 1946 for sale in Germany for 60,000 Euros:wink:

If it were here I'd be tempted to buy it  I wouldn't rest until all that custom stuff was off, a well rewarding weekend's work 😎

The dash blanking panel looks as though it's been added (see the under bonnet picture), it should be a continuous part of the pressed out dash, and is the logo too high :?
