I was wrong, the blanking panel is original it seems.

Below is the car now and before, does anyone recognise the UK registration. I have a vague recollection of this car going to the States many years ago:?:

This is such a shame to end-up as yet another lowered Beetle

The wheels and nipple hubcaps have been parted-out

Would really love to get this car back to the UK – the hassle of shipping, risk of damage, theft and so forth, is a pain:x

Are you sure this is the same car?

I recall seeing photos of that lowered split on the Samba where they were making the number plate triangle shaped section of the decklid so that it looked like a KDF car. Happy to stand corrected on this but perhaps it's not a 47 after all???

Wise men fear to tread… and they'll also need around £22,000 plus the parts to make the car correct, and the transport costs too 😳

But it's a damn good car with some rare goodies, even with the ultra rare handed semaphores. I've only seen them before on my '49

Correct flat pan with extra ribs under the inside split window

Near perfect dash (note rare large switches) even the carb has the cog-wheel logo stamped on it. Correct semi-matt paint too.

Potential to be the best '40s Beetle in the UK if someone can get it here

Too far unless you have a lot of trust in sending out big money and the waiting for the jewell to arrive (in one piece)
