Is that your car Rich? If so, why the change of registration?

New plate looks good, although I think I'm in the minority of liking the old motorcycle ones.

But the old registration was 813 UXU, must be more to it than the MOT

No i started that Martin when i owned the car. It's so you couldn't get pulled, out on the road. The show plates i had fitted were hardly legal:lol: It's just that,IMHO,a bigger plate absolutely wrecks the lines of that beautiful early pressing in the decklid

Yes, George started the trend with the yellow refelective plate cable-tied to the back bumper. I loved it so much, I thought I would always keep it there  (As Will says, it was on there for the MoT the day before the REME show).

I absolutely hate obvious 'age related' plates ie: UXA, UXB etc, hence the change to a slightly nicer and shorter plate. I searched and searched for a 5-digit plate with '47' in it but couldn't find one. If I do, I'll buy it and get it changed.
I like the look of the pre-63 digits on the new larger plate- it makes the car look a bit more vintage 'British' UserPostedImage I made sure you can still see the pre-'49 engine lid pressing behind the plate.

Here you go Rich,a nice one will cost you as much as the car did:lol:
Just put 47 into "search". 47 A = £85,000:wink:or how about 47 ROB = £10,490.Be nice when you give "the boss" a lift to Camberg next year, when his cabrio won't work again:twisted:

Aha. That explains things. Well I like it a lot more with that plate on her Rich as it does indeed root it more firmly in having been in the UK for years, but shouldn't it be letters then numbers? Not that it really matters though.

Incidentally, how long has the car been in the UK?

Hi George, I have seen the car and it is now on its way to the new owner...and will be restored to the best possible way. It was for a short time in Belgium and now heading towards Eastern Europe.
I have no further details from the vin or so. I could not get in to take picts of the vin. I only have 4 picts as my memory card was full...:(
