This would have to be one of the first Karmann Ghias to come to Australia. The photo would have been taken around 1957 or 58. The car would have been a private import as Ghias were not sold here until a few years after that.
Note the Okrasa TSV 1300 text written on the front of the car.
This car is believed to have been used as the starting point for the design of the Ascort. The Ascort designer (Mirek Craney) was also an importer of Okrasa kits into Australia.
