I am trying to install a 62 model transaxle into my 59 VW. The trans is 3 or 4 " too low to bolt to the front mount. What is the deal? thanks

The mounts are in a different position on an earlier car. You need to weld the metal mount hanger from a later car onto your car. Its also meant to be possible to use a split bus gearbox nosecone on a beetle box, but I have no details of this swap and it will be hard to find the correct parts.
