A very nicely-taken photo, Malc. I hope you asked the owner's permission before you put it up on the forum... 😛

I was having my old '59 Judson Beetle photographed outside a picturesque thatched cottage for a magazine article by James Hale. After about 10 minutes the owner came out and told us to move on.:(

Not a VW fan.

I meant the permission of the owner of the rather nice Beetle, John

Nice story though! Shame the house owner obviously wasn't into VWs...

AW,

What else do you know about that photo?

Was this taken post-war? I see English on the sign.

I think it's from 1937.

Chris Barber book says:

A historical picture of Car 3 - Porsche technicians Karl Gensburger (left) and Karl Faulhaber stopped the car in the Salzburg Alps, just where the traffic changed sides from left to right - see sign above the road. Half of Austria drove on the left in those days, hence a right hand-drive Volkswagen, Type 66, later.
