I have a `64 Beetle with a 1776. It has two muflers attached in the middle, where the exhaust comes from the engine (sorry, I don't know the propper name for everything). The piece that connects the mufflers to the rest fo the exhaust system (the headers?) is cracking from the weight of the mufflers. Is there anything I can do to fix that situation? If not, what type of muffler could I use instead? I want to stick with perrfomance mufflers. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Not really - thats just how they are. Weld it back together with a bit of strengthening maybe. If you try to make hangers for the mufflers it'll just crack worse!

The system is called a dual quiet pack (if I understand what you mean).
