No secret resto here, just an ongoing project. Not many people will have seen it as its only been to the Bradford show and shine so far.

It will be there what ever state its in. Since the photo above, 3 of the wheels have been painted, and the front wings have been straightened and primered, but are still sitting on the floor in the front room.........

I think its a bit beyond T-cut  Its a very early 60's respray in what looks like metalic bronze. The last 40 years of sitting in a barn hasn't been kind, so there is more oxidization than sound paint.

I'll be happy to get the front wings painted and fitted, and then possibly think about painting the bonnet - Its getting to the point where I'm trying to keep the newly painted parts symetrical.

I just need to get some miles on the car now so I have a bit more confidence that it will make it all the way to Germany. Trip to the VolksWorld show is planned as its first major trip. Upgraded my AA membership just in case

This is a picture of our hotel at the last B.C. I attended in 1999. 😃 And to be honest, nobody looked twice there were that many cars there.

Still one of my favourite pictures tho'. All drove there together in our own mini convoy... Fantastic.... Roll on June..

Pity about the red car in the top of the picture... 😞

I should be there in this thing. Have fitted a few more acurate bits, lost the (incorrect) towel rails, fitted old style headlamp lenses and I should have the proper back lights fitted by then too. Got a new No. plate too - S "TP 15" H - (type 15 - geddit?)

I love this car! And the way you have just painted the back end looks great! It reminds me of Paul Bs sunrof oval which painted is the same way!

I am sure there was a feature of a 52 or 53 sunroof in a recent SuperVWs magazine, same colour, I remember the red wheels! I will find it.

The paint scheme is more by accident than design - if the panels aren't small enough to fit in my Golf to take to night class at the local collage, then they won't get painted yet

The front wings are now painted, as are the rest of the wheels.......

I did mean to take some more pictures over the weekend, but he 'ran out of electricity' at the petrol station, just 3 miles into our trip to Sandown on Friday. Next attempt to get out of Yorkshire will be Stanford Hall.
