Chassis is May 1966, but the front wings are post 1967,

it has some rare accessories in there, the chrome indicator arm looks OG as it has 3 ribs on it. The repros i think are flat there.

Deck lid looks earlier i think. Rear lights look wrong to me as well.

What do the doors look like, what is the handle like?

Are the wheels 5 or 4 bolt?

Check out my 66 a few posts below its totally original, you seem to have upright headlights, they should be sloping, your rear cluster should be oval shaped not Tombstone.

It looks as though the interoir is spot on, the indicator arm is an after market accessory, the dash is as it should be and the engine looks perfect as well

....but the wings have been replaced with later ones upright lights and tombstones post 67 i think

its basically original with a few aftermarket accessories, except the four wings which have been replaced with later ones and later lights front and back.

Your rear lights are now correct.
5 stud wheels with 'Flat' hub caps is also correct.
Door handles are also correct push button type for this year.
Indicator arm, radio and front shelf are correct period.

All you need then from what I can make out is a pair of 'Hella' slopping headlights to return to factory spec. Oh, and bumper overriders.

I think the decklid is wrong ! model 65 !
Front fenders are 68 or later !
As far I can see The other parts are correct for a 66 !

Decklid looks right to me.
65 and 66 are the same, it changed in 67 for the 1500 model (3/4 length).
66 only feature is the 1300 badge (first year to have engine badge) no 'VW', following years read VW1300.
