Our Beetle got rear-ended by a Ford Focus the other week and I'm looking for advice/suggestions on where to take her to have her fixed.

From the outside the damage doesn't look too bad: dented bumper, small dent in the decklid, chipped paint and slight crushing of the bumper-iron mountings. Incidentally, and thanks to having a towbar, we got him good! :d

My insurance company told me to get a single quote from the garage of my choice! Obviously, I want the repairs done to a high standard by someone who 'understands' Beetles and will do a good job -- any ideas or suggestions on where I should take her? I'm in south-central England but I could travel if needs be.

I can recommend Hayden at Panel-Kraft, over at Letchworth.

A top bloke who I'd trust to work on any of my VWs.

Thanks very much for that recommendation. Their work looks top notch and Hayden's a nice chap to talk to too.

I'd be very happy indeed for them to do my repairs, I just need to iron out a few matters with the insurance company first because (apparently) they are notoriously slow payers.

Hayden is welding my RHD 53 oval as I type...

He has a few very nice ovals on his books...
