I have posted about the other cars in response to requests from a couple of interested members. They have subsequently requested that I post further pictures.

As mentioned a while ago, I am planning to keep interested members informed on Rattletrap's progress with pictures as I get him ready making repairs and so forth for the road next year.

And in the last week you actually got around to posting one pic.(two if you include the bramble patch)
I don't know what you told Rob to get the lock taken off,but it looks to me like you had him over.
Like i said, the bullshit goes on.......

While I had the camera out to get a shot of Rattletrap, I took a pic of one of my 'lost' in the garden VWs, as requested by member AW on this forum.

As the growth sets back a little for winter, the car, a big-window base model Beetle is just visible. Not visible in the shot is a Standard split (349 GMO). Both cars are of course requiring work to see the road again.

Regarding GMO, Dad took a few pictures of it back in the early 1980s and its a KdF military, with raised chassis. Is it still like that? As I remember, Mr Shaill drove it over to Germany to Bad Camberg about that time.

Are you looking have a garden clear out and are thinking of selling it?

After moving Rattletrap away to the garage from under the car port where he had stood for the past 4 years or so, I 'rescued' and cleaned up one of my cars from the garden, my 1971 1300 and put it in his place. I know that one or two people here are not impressed with some of my Beetles left buried in undergrowth, after seeing my earlier post, and this was the easier car to get out.

Then this happened with the recent storms:

Looks like Rattletrap just avoided some extra dents being added to those he already has, and a further twist in the Rattletrap story.

An independent Volkswagen/car historian has contacted me with regard to researching and compiling the history of Rattletrap from day one right up to the pre67vw thread. It will be his own work and independent from me and what I think, the resulting story being from his own findings. I have welcomed this and given my agreement. He has already started researching and finding information. He would love to hear from anyone that has had past and knowledgeable contact with Tony and Rattletrap, who is happy to provide their story. In particular, those that knew Tony and his car in the early days. I will pass this onto the historian who may well use their account in the resulting Rattletrap biography/story. This information can be emailed to me at [email protected]

Thanks,
John

Took a real bad fall in the street, feet went up in the air, landing head first on the block-paved pavement. Possibly unconscious for a short-time, though I only remember coming down on my head then getting up after. Plenty of claret, shooting pain. An ambulance was called by staff at the nearby library and immediate hospital treatment was given. I tell you all this, so if I happen to post anything more silly than usual, you'll know there maybe a good reason...

(Rob please move to the usual place. Not the bin please:!:  )

Thanks guys. Great to feel there are VW freinds out there:beer:

Been feeling more bashed-about than a certain black VW:(

Felt pretty well normal when I posted yesterday (what pases as normal for me anyway), but today have gone into a feeling of mild dizzyness ,feeling sick, headache, tiredness and blury vision. Silly I know but poor Schumaker (spelt wrong?) came to mind at the time.

Sunroof53s Beetle on its roof sums it up. You have to think about this - I have the bash at the top of my head not back side or front. How do you do that falling over:?:

Appreciate Rob keeping this thread open too
