No, they shouldn't be any colour at all.
Can't tell you the exact date without consulting my books :lol: , but am sure it was sometime in 1963 (August for the '64 model year??) that they stopped......which is why for my Dec '62 Ghia I had to paint the VW motif in the hubcaps black...any younger and the hubcaps would've been plain chrome!
