Am trying to find the answer to the above, my production history book doesnt seem to give it and a search on thesamba and here hasnt come up with a definative answer... Mr Oakley please?!!

What years were the 20 past 8 (or 7 and 4 o'clock) headlights fitted and when did it change to 10 past 8 (or 7 and 2 o'clock)?

Am trying to find outwhat should be correct for my US spec US car.

Hi dont know about the 7 and 2 o'clock.

But beetles have had both Hella headlights with the screws at 7 & 5 o'clock and Bosch headlights with the screws at 12 & 9 o'clock. The glass changes through the years.

Dont know about the other headlights you have quoted.

Yes, thanks sneal - I was aware of those, I think the 12 & 9's were fitted to earlier cars (50's?) but there was a definate change in the early 60's between 7 & 5 and 7 & 2...

Anyone else any idea?
