I was just wondering how many interesting cars must be hidden away in the hands of people who never take them to shows, and aren´t really part of the "scene" as such. There must be a lot that are never seen (cough, cough, John, cough...). Anybody have any friend of a friend stories about what might be out there that never sees the light of day?

I beleive there's a chap in the (north?) of England with quite a nice collection of vintage VW's which includes at least 2 Heb's and a 50 Vert.

I'm sure there's a couple other forumite's who may be able to tell more about the collection...

He should give them an airing – at least on here.

There's also Fred Metson in Northern Ireland who has some real gems, (MRT for one).

What about the guy in the south (near Bournemouth I think?) who had a couple early splits and oval's. I'm sure pics of the collection were featured in a VW Trends and on the Samba a while back.

Then there are those whose homes are stuffed to the gunnels with rare sought after vintage VW parts and won't sell them – even though they don't even have a vintage VW.…:thumbdn:

About collections. I know a man in Italy who owns 3 hebs and some Porsches, The banker with at least 3 maybe 4 hebs and other collections cars, There is a man in germany who owns several Hebs( read more hebs then I have fingers on my left or right hand) There is an austrian with several Hebs, schwimmers, kubels, Karmann's and other rare stuf, H Walter with +130 VW's in his collection, The Grundmann's, Mr KOMORI, BBT, West coast metric, and some private guy's with loads of VW's.
And not forget Patrick B with 3 Rometsch Lawrences:thumbup:
Some of them being used regular, some not. Depend on the owner.

You can't drive them all in one time.:x

Have you ever seen any of the Grundmann collection? It's more than a collection of cars, they have tons of incredibly rare 'stuff' that they've been collecting for years and years.
