Many of you who went to the Hessisch Oldendorf Show in 2009 will remember Rinie Roodbeen's beautiful '56 Golde Sunroof Ghia.

UserPostedImage

Rinie has entered his car in an online run-off against several other vintage cars to be selected for display at The Dutch Motor Show.

Patrick Baptiste posted this appeal on The Samba a couple of days ago so I though I'd repeat it here, as an opportunity to represent aircooled VWs at this prestigious show.

Here's Patrick's instruction of how to vote:

Yes, Rinie his car is a great looking car.

We are trying to get his car shown on the next edition of the Dutch AutoRai. The AutoRai is the biggest carshow (for new cars) in the Netherlands. This year they will also have an exposition for a couple of oldtimers.

Rinie's his car is one of the 20 nominees. With a internet poll people can vote on the cars, The cars with the most votos will be shown on the AutoRai.

People can vote on:
https://www.autorai.nl/nl/nl/2011/Pages/klassiekerpoll.aspx

And the instruction for the not Dutch readers 😃
1) You need to select one car in each periode and than click "VERDER" (continue).

2) Fill in the form:
Geslacht = Gerder
Voornaam = First name
Tussenvoegsel = family name preposition
Achternaam = Last name (family name)
E-mailadres = E-mail address
Land = Country
Remove the subsciption vink for the E-mail newsletter: "Ja, abonneer mij op de AutoRAI nieuwsbrief" (Yes, subscribe me for the Autorai newsletter) or you will get newsletters written in Dutch.

To finisch click on "STEM" (Vote)

3) After voting, you will get an E-mail with a link to activite your vote and to view the results. Click on the link << Activeer uw stem en bekijk het resultaat >> (activate your vote and view the sesults) and the voting is complete

I hope you will help us to get Rinie his car shown to a large public and promote the Karmann Ghia in the Netherlands.

Regards
Patrick

The vote closes Tuesday evening 1st Mar and at the moment is running a very close second to an Austin Healey...your vote could be vital.

This is a beautiful car, looking at the picture.

If you have seen the car 'in the flesh' you can vote for it.

But then how can you vote fairly on an internet poll unless you've seen the other nominees in the flesh too.:?

Fair? You can bet all the others involved in the poll have solicited votes from their respective clubs and forums. Look on a vote for Rinie's very worthy Ghia as redressing the balance.:smile:

So we won't really have needed to have seen the car as the opening line of your post implies.:mellow:

The standard of restoration, effort by the owner and condition have nothing to do with it at all.:?

Vote for it because its a Volkswagen and the other nominees aren't.:d

May as well have holes in the floor or a seized engine then.:rofl:
