I have recently bought a 66 deluxe, its got 85K on the clock original everything including all wings panels, and body work never welded.

there are a few very small patches of rust here and there maybe 4-5 in all and all smaller than a 5p piece, both doors are rotting at the bottom though. The Interior is completely original and in great nick, although the carpet has been replace with new.

the heater channels were re-done and the floor pan 2 years ago, the motor is original 1285 and starts first time every time. He's my daily driver now and running well.

I have 2 questions;

i paid £3400 for it was that a resonable price?

Also im putting a step up inverter to run stereo from the glove box so as not to destroy the OG-ness of it (I would never consider connecting an iPod /spit, to a split radio 😛 ) what type of 6v battery is in a 66 beetle? +ve or -ve earth?

I'm after a set of rust free 65-66 doors as well, if anyone has a set 😃
