A new big project.
A 1967 21 window samba.
Needs a lot of work but is still restorable.
The good, solid roof.
The bad, everything under the roof... :lol: :lol: :lol:
As all the other aircooled Volkswagens is the 1967 samba also a one year model so a lot of small details who are diffrent as a 1966.
This bus is an original Austrian bus but is already 10 years in Belgium.
In his last drivable period it was used as a camper, so they pull out the bulkheadpanel... :cry:
But it is in good hands now.

Also the right side panel needed to be replaced.
The only problem, they don't make 1967 panels cause it haves a diffrent feulcappressing, and the lock is on the feultank.

As the bus came from Austria it was full of tar inside the wheelarches and everywhere underneath!
About one millimeter of tar everywhere underneath! 😶
A hell of a job to remove this, believe me!

The bus had an accident in the past and was very bad repaired on the drivers side.

Yes Andi, A lot of work but it's a 21 window....
About everything on the drivers side is cutted out, even the A-pillar was bended and repaired very bad...
And the chassis was rotten....

I removed the paint and bondo of the roof for sandblasting.
The rear side is cleaned now and haves no tar and grease anymore, so a dry bus! :lol:
The roof needed small welding on 2 places.

Bus is sandblasted and my garage is a bit bigger now! :beer:
Bus is painted with epoxyprimer.
Right chassis is still very bad... 😞
But I found a NOS part! :beer:
