Good luck with the MOT, mine flew through last week no problems

Hub caps look great, yours is one of the few 67's, plus mine, that I've seen these on (Roy Wilson's doesn't 😛 )

There was a german trader at Lavenham '08 who had a set of the correct '67 hubcaps for sale, Roy's car was parked next to mine at the time and I did toy with telling him that they were available, but I was newish to the '67 scene at the time and it felt a bit cheeky

Your car is looking great Robb, well done :D

I would love to see it in the flesh this year, unfortunately due to family illness I doubt I'll be showing at all this year, in fact I haven't even bothered getting my '67 out of winter storage, hopefully I'll be back in time for Lavenham 2012.

No, not at all. Just I've currently got a 'thing' for floaty old British boats. The 250 would be my preference over the Jag, V8 FTW.

It's more 'floaty' cars I'm liking right now however, something I can place in 'drive', and just waft around in.

Some day...

Anyhoo, back to far inferior little German cars. Paint is looking good now Rob, is that now the hole outside painted? Shame the roof needed painting after all that. I'm amazed how well you can get paint to match sometimes. I spent ages trying to find a join line on Roy's blue '67 and found nothing.

thanks, yer we had to paint the roof, as the colour match was quite different, and also the paint on the roof had gone thin, polished through to the primer in places.

if i make it on sunday, there will still bits i wanna do to it before stonor park, but just running out of time.

just remember, before you compare mine and roys car, check out the underneath compared to his ;)

Hope to see you there - just out of interest, do you have to pre-book to show a car, or is it a case of just turning up on the day for Stanford?

And bloody well done!

PS, you gonna park next to Roy?

thanks, it will need a bit more finessing, but dont they all?

you have to book your car in, and are allocated a spot, so who knows where i will be.

not sure mind will be a patch on Roys. I just wanted a clean car.

went in this morning to start wet flatting the roof, and then Alan mopped the roof.

UserPostedImage

then with 5 mins to spare, mot time!

UserPostedImage

it passed!

straight back, and we whipped the doors off, then started mopping the roof some more and started the wings.

doors will be painted tomorrow, then mopped and assembled sat.
