I'm trying to keep Rattletrap items together to avoid forum mixing, I know Rob prefers that, so I've moved your question here.

Choke cable well stuck, Mike. Will be fitting an auto choke carb as suggested by Mike Peckham, easy way out I know:oops:

Where an old car is MOT exempt, as is Rattletrap, and it has no washers fitted, is it now the owner's decision to allow the car on the road without them?

In the MOT days, one garage would let it go, but another would say to fit them:?

Important thing is you can get it running ,I assume it still has the 30 hp engine it had when haze locks did the repairs .You could also run a manual choke cable down the side of the tunnel instead especially if you can't find a good 28 mm auto choke.

A friend of mine has a shiny red Porsche. Gives it almost the same name - F*nnytrap. Unfortunately, I don't think Rattletrap will draw the ladies quite the same.

42 pages dedicated to a car that no one has ever seen in years or even know if it still exists. In fact i don't believe any vehicle restored by House of Haselock is still around, we need current pictures as evidence to its existence or I think we should claim Rattletrap is dead and lock this thread forever

I will be posting some pictures of Rattletrap, and have a go at posting pictures of repairs and bits I make to the car. It won't be a Last Triumph type job, but I think there are enough people interested to do it. There may be some 'guest appearances' of other vehicles here from my stable to add to interest. Just as long as I can keep it all on track without the thread falling into a pit of dispute as has happened before.

I hope I've a driving licence, I've been running around in my Routemaster this year, and looking after the bus leaves less time for Rattletrap. I generally concerntrate on one vehicle each year. This year it was the bus so next year it'll be Rattletrap's turn. The following year...

Trips take time due to tourists wanting to take photos.

Legal, well I've never been challenged, but its kept in full London Transport livery, so who'd wonder.

There are pictures on this thread showing repair sections, assuming that they are actually 10 BXK.

The continual avoidance of posting a full identifyable picture of the car is niggling. The basis of this thread comes down to is the car a 1950 build, and is the claimed mileage correct. I and others think it is so, but there are many who do not think it is so. This will always be the case. Its time to stop this thread so that other members with a split window have the chance do a thread here on their car.
