I'm putting the gearstick back on the pan and have fitted the rubber boot that goes at the bottom. This is the same colour as the gearstick, but a friend has said he's only ever seen them in black, regardless of the colour of the car.
What colour should it be ?
I can post a pic if you need more info.
Thanks.

What colour is the gear stick?
What year is the car?

We have the correct boot for Pre '57 cars in stock, it only comes in black.

The later '58 on boot came in a veriety of colours, we have OE quality which is a strange Greenie Grey, Black and a couple of NOS Blue ones which are nice!

Cheers Jules,
The car is an April 1955. So in theory it should have a black one then ? How much for one including postage please.

Careful. I believe 54-55 boots were different than later oval boots.

Sorry Sir ! 😞

I'll go and buy some new ones today.

I'm not building the car to the same standard as yours, so I'm happy that the carpets will cover them.

Call down when you're ready, I'm in all night.

All Oval era boots were black.
58-60 boots were that funny grey/greeny colour
61 came in a variety of colours to match the one-year-only colour co-ordinated floormats and steering wheels.

I am a mine of useless information.

Maybe you should keep it, 'freak or unique' 😃

On the other hand, this original one is on my other better 50 that I have recently commandeer'd and it looks exactly like Jules but obviously softer smoother old rubber. Old rubber is nice too.. :D
