Why all this Volksworld "luvvy' from pre67vw.:x

The VW38 is one of the all-time Beetle greats, a car that has caused rather a stir in the VW world. Yet here's the issue that 'features' the VW38, and guess what's on the cover, yep, another custom Beetle.:shock:

This is a Volkswagen custom car magazine, with no place on the shelf of a vintage VW stock purist. 😳

In addtion to this, the magazine features are put together 2, 3 sometimes even 4 months ahead of the publishing date so given this fact and that the 38 wasn't actually finished when this mag was on the art editors MAC it's totally understandable it's not featured or on the cover at this point. I'm sure the HO team don't want it featured before being totally complete and I'm sure that once there, it will get a VolksWorld cover and feature.

The truth is that it was all very last minute, they pulled a 4 page feature just to cover the VW38 wedding - come on, thats awesome for them to do. How many other VW's have you seen get a 4 page feature AND ITS NOT EVEN FINISHED YET!!!

Unless it gets repainted in an 'attractive' eye-catching colour with a set of bright shiny chrome custom wheels, the VW38 will never be a front cover feature on this publication.:wink:

I do however lament the dearth of stock looking aircooleds in magazines these days. Whilst I applaud the inclusion of VW38 it only goes to highlight that most of us here don't have a hope in hell of adding our cars to the "Volksworld Elite" no matter how nice they are.

10 years ago "Volksworld" embraced the diversity of the hobby...today it underlines the lack of it.:x

I saw a terrible bit of writing in Ultra. Talking about a `62 Cabrio and it said something like "lowering and polished Empi 5s stop this being just another stocker"! Yeah, right, yet another `62 Cabrio. I get sick of walking past rows and rows of them at shows!
