Last weekend, I spend my time to drive to Buojovice, south bohemia, to visit the car. Yeah, it is a fake, that's what the seller toldl me in email. He got round about 50 people, who where interested in this car. I was the first, who has seen it in my own eyes.
The car is based on a 1944 Kuebelwagen-Chassis with maching parts. It is rebuilt to a Type 87 chassis - with all details.
The body was made in ca. 1950. It has the KDF-rear-window section. The car is done very lovely with a lot of KDF-Parts or good copys of then. A 98 % perfect copy. For me, it is the best and most detailed Type 87 Replika, I have seen before.
The owner is a Volkswagen-guy since he was born. His father used a Kübelwagen as a daily driver. All what he did looks very nice and this car was not his first project. After he drove the car for the first time, he found out, that the car is not so good in the bad terrain. So he decided to built a secound car - with the tube in front and the Type 82 Exhaust like the car in the Volkswagen Collection. That's the reason why he would sell it if there is a serious buyer.
