To my honnest opinion Etzhold is that not Hebmuller Nr 1.

Heb 1 must be black. And on a certain detail I must say that it is at least none of the first 50 cars that are made....
The engine lid is missing the rectangular pressings..

If I am wrong, than somebody can explain me.

And yes, finaly VintageVw found his dream and I must say that it is a realy good one he found.

Count me in for the scans , thanks Guido..

The give away in the pict is the top of the firewall on the raincatcher... Early cars have a slight rounded firewall top. Later cars have a straight firewall

In the book of jacky Morel are the same picts and it reads that a heb was back in the factory after an accident.
That is maybe also not correct as in the agreements between Hebmuller and VW was written that all repairs had to be donne by VW dealerships.. and not by Hebmuller.

Greetings. Peter.

I agree with Peter. That is definitly not Number 1!

The three first had different shaped decklids with sedan popesnoses

Body nr:s 1 and 2 were black and body number three was grey.
The colours are confirmed by the documents posted on Bruce Braun's site.

Here they are in correct order:

Number 14-0001
UserPostedImage

Number 14-0002
UserPostedImage

Number 14-0003

The picture Guido posted confirms my statement that there should be two holes in the panel for the wiring harness underneath the firewall. The smaller (left one) is for the startercable and the bigger (right one) for the main harness.

Edit:>The picture text under the second picture you posted said production number one. In other words it would be body number 14-0004 in that case. The square under the licenceplate would be difficult to see in those pictures anyways so maybe it would be correct? I don't know wether the first productioncar was black or white though?

Hijack,

Hi Guys,

I have an original Hebmuller emblem and would like to trade it for a coloured Saint Christopher horn button. If anyone is interested email [email protected]

Here is a photo of what it looks like. This is from the Samba's gallery, it's the one on the top right hand side:

Thanks

Ofcourse the Saint Christopher horn button has to be an original one !
Or is the button allowed to be a repro too just like all the stuff you show us here?

Yes all the ones in the picture except the one on the top right hand side are repro's. I used this picture from the Samba for a reference. Those emblems are not mine. Mine looks like this one also:

I will post pics of mine later. I am not a hebmuller expert, so be easy on me

That top right Hebmuller badge never was used on any VW based Hebmuller... That is an older design. The Hebmuller badge below is the correct design for VW based Hebmullers.

Sorry.. 😞

Maybe that logo is genuine maybe not!
I can not tell you that for sure but what I can tell you for sure is that this logo never has been used on a VW based Hebmuller! Just like Hebster52 told you!
The photograph below shows you how an original logo for VW based should look like!!!
