I thouroughly love the Goodwood Revival, the emmersive event is as close to time travel as you'll ever experience. Visitors dress up in period clothes including WW2 Army & Airforce uniforms, as old fashioned Police, or in Tweed suits - or boiler suits and old caps. The ladies wear period uniforms or dresses to and the aim is that everyone on site looks the part. Throughout the whole weekend there are various events, talks, demonstrations and of course lots of racing on the track.
In terms of VW's, there is very little which is a shame. Back in period, there were a few VW's that raced at Goodwood, but these days VW's are somewhat shunned it seems, but the close relatives from the Porsche stable are much more common.
This year there was a track parade of Meyers Manx Beach buggies - obviously the original cars were all VW based, but there is a new version being launched that doesn't seem to have anything VW on it at all (and it's electric).
'Over the road' is a part of the Revival away from the track and is where the bulk of the trade stands are located, this is where we found California Classics who had a couple of Karmann Ghia's on display - and Type 2 detectives with a VW Bus on their stand. One of the coolest VW buses though, is the Porsche Classic high-top sales flap. It's a regular on their stand, but still cool to see.

This weekend Goodwood had more than its fair share of rain which caused a fair bit of chaos in the car parks, but all in all it was still a very good event that needs to be on every classic car enthusiasts bucket list.
