Nice to see you here  I love your postings!

Some friends here in uk just had a similar problem with their stock all original (inc paint) unrestored unwelded plain old 58 beetle, the inspector would not issue certificate because of the '1-' before the number! :?: Even with cars original paperwork and backup evidence provided about how beetle chassis numbers work.

From yesterday I got my Heb insured!:d
Filled up the petrol tank and made a tour! :d
The first 10 kilometers ok:d the next 50 ok too:d with making top speeds of 110 km/h according the speedometer! 😛
But than after reaching presumably top speed I was passed and hold by the "rijkswacht" sorry Peter, the "federal police"!
Not to give me a ticket[-x but just to admire the Hebmuller!
Seemed to be that one of the two police men was a Beetle enthousiast too but and the "beetle" he just passed he never saw before!
He knew that Beetle cabrio's were made by Karmann but Hebmuller , who or what is that? Did you make it yourself he asked?
Where did we hear that question more!!!
I gave the man in 10 minutes an explination that normally takes one hour about the "knowabouts" of the cooperation of Volkswagen and Hebmuller!
Thank you very much he said! I learned and heared more:idea: in the past 10 minutes than in the five years that I am a member of a VW Beetle Club of ??????!! 😳
(It's better not to tell which club otherwise I GET NASTY MAIL in my mail box)
Last time I had confrontation with the police they weren't that nice! Yes I was testing a car too, but a faster one than the Hebmuller!!!
I don't now how it is in the rest of the world but overhere in Belgium the police is mans best friend!!!
Unbelievable?
You could be right!!!

 ET

ps: sorry no pics, maybe tomorrow!!
