This morning the sun was shining so I decided to the Autokeuring (Car Inspection) with my Hebmuller. Once there nobody to see there!!!
After half a hour waiting the gate opened and I could go in. The inspectors there turning around the Heb and I heard them say:
"He did a nice job by cutting that roof its a nice speedster"!!!
After explainig it was a special bodied Beetle called Hebmuller they started the inspection!
And what was the result: EVERYTHING OK ecxept 1 or 2 minor defaults.
No emergency triangle and no first aid kit!!! My fault but still happy!
Untill I had to show the chassis number!!
To show the number I had to lift the back of the emergency seat and than I had to lift the seat before the inspector could see the chassis number!
The number was seen and chequed but by letting the seat go back in resting postion the inspector said:
Wait a minute, wait a minute!!
The papers are saying normally this is a two seater and now you have a four seater!!!
This is definatly something you build yourself!
You better go home remove that back seat and come back again!!!
Later more bec my wife likes me to go to the shop and when I don't go now no sex tonight!!! So I better go now wll be back later!

Shoppping is done, so tonight ...?

Finally I went back home not to remove the back seat[-x but to get as much as possible information and documentation about the differences between a Type 14A Hebmuller two seater and a Karmann Type 15 four seater!
I even showed them a genuine sales brochure of a 14A Hebmuller with clear view of the interior so also the emergency seat in the back but still they weren't convinced it was a two seater!! For them it was a four seater!!!

I explained and explained but despite all the efforts I took nothing could help anymore!!!

So it are going to be people of the ministery of transportation who are going to decide if the Hebmuller is street legal and ever going to come on the streets again!!
I hope those people know that a Hebmuller is a two and not a four seater otherwise I can go and do just like that inspector said and remove that emergency seat!!!
Yeah, in his dreams!!! 😳

Seems unbelievable to you? You better believe it!!!

 ET

ps: Photo's will come but first I have to buy a camera!!!
But with all the problems about and around the Hebmuller also my money vanished!!!
So no time (read as €, £ or $) to go and buy one!!

Today I went back to the automobile inspection centre to start a new discussion about a Hebmuller being a two and not[-x a four seater!
The day before I received of Pascal, known as Vintage VW here on this forum, the name of the inspection centre in his town that the Hebmuller 14A approved as being a two seater!
Thank you Pascal!!
When I gave this "note" to the chief of the inspection centre he informed there and after a litle talking to the man at the other side of the telephone line everything was setteled!!!
At last! Halleluja!!!
End good all good!!!

 ET

PS: No Rob still no pics, I'll teach you to be patient!

Today I went back to the car inspection with the Hebmuller! :d
And guess what? 😞
Everything OK ecxept the fact that a Hebmuller is a four seater and not a two seater according to a 20 year old inspector!!:?
Result that I got mean as  mean ET!!
After 45min of discussion I told the inspector
that he was very clever for somebody who was still fluid  when the Hebmuller was made!!
Where do you get all your wisdom, this car is tree times your age!!
The inspector got very angry and went for the chief of the station to back him up!
One minute later he came back a little bit red and with his tail between his and said:
Sorry Mr Mertens (that is the real name of ET:roll: ) but your car is fully approved and roadworthy! Unbelievable? You better believe it!! And no Rob no pics!!![-x
