I've just read over on The Historic VW Club website that the date for Pepercorn has been changed so it's now the same weekend as Bug Jam!!!! :D
I think that's a fantastic move which should help its 'Vintage VW' status loads. 8)
So now everyone will have to choose between the two...
Should be interesting!

Ok,
I think we should have a roll call for Peppercorn!
Yes, I know I always start these and then bail out and dont go..
But I promised Jeff Caton I would come in a beetle and make trouble as usual! :o
There are lots of people who read but only post occassionally in the oval and 60's forums!
Please post here! It will be good to see a field full of beetles for a change!
Lets have a revolution and take back the field from the evil campervans!
I dont know about you but my car is ready for battle! :D

Ok, so who is going to go and post on Restowagen that splits and ovals go free? If I go over there I will come back with my clothes in rags and my car shiny with Grandpop Alberts mirrors attached   :D I vote JD should go. After all he has wheel trims on his Kab and has said 'Fuchs' more than once on here and should be punished further for his crimes now we have removed him from his month on the rack. You're taller than I remember JD :?

Funny you should mention it.
Hopefully 2 other SMV10's (slightly larger slightly later models) will be also at Peppercorn that Owen sold in the past. 1 of them is fully restored and one is fully polished and looks amazing!!

I am sure it will be the first time 3 SMV's have been together in the uk!
We kind of like the peeling original paint on ours and it matches the samba quite well. Also right now we just dont have time for 'keep it shiny maintenance'. You cant leave them outside for storage at all, even painted, they are more fragile than an old car!

Pikey wifey and pikey kiddie onboard. (Need to borrow some Alsations I think)
And the best part is that if Owens freshly repainted Bay single cab is ready in time we will be towing it with that!

Hi guys im still new to the vintage scene. Is Peppercorn worth going to for part hunting ( i have a 49 beetle standard). I ask because im very busy with work commitments and can't really afford to stop working over the weekend. But if you guys (especially Anna) think it will be worth my while going then please could you tell me.
Im not too fussed about seeing lots of examples of nice cars (it only depresses me as mine if far from 'nice' at the moment) It would be mearly a visit to look for parts as thats all i'll have time for.
Anyway your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
regards Lee
(oh '356 boy' do you actually have a 356 as i have a mate whos just sold his 6month old 911turbo and now has £100K burning his pocket. hes looking at buying a mint 356. wondered if you know of any for sale and any things to look out for when viewing? Email me if you could )

I personally dont think you will find many parts for 49. Not enough to make the trip just on a parts hunt anyway. Far less than at Stanford Hall. We are taking very little as we just collected Owens Bay pickup from the restorer last night and it looks so beautiful! We are afraid to put anything in the back!
Met a few! 40's beetle owners at War & Peace yesterday but didnt see any gen not repro beetle parts for sale there either. I think we were the only beetle there at all this year? Loads of kubels and schwimmers though!
