I'm thinking of getting some pre67vw t-shirts printed up, but only if people are actually going to buy some. Is anyone interested?

Posted by: GKL 7 - 17 April 2009 22:02:11
I would be. (depending what's on them)
(depending what's on them)
Well, that was going to be the next question... :d

Yep, interested if the designer makes a good job.

Posted by: GKL 7 - 17 April 2009 22:27:09
Hey!!!! We are talking Rob here,of course he'll do a good job. Are you planning just one design and just front or back and front? And you must incorporate the word Stock in flasing lights like those kids birthday cards.

If there is a non photoshopped photo of a OG Porsche Fuch on fire then put me down for 20!
Are you planning just one design and just front or back and front? Some kind of 'stock' phrase would be good, but I can't really think of anything good, I came up with: "no I'm not lowering it and yes I'm keeping these wheels"

Any chance of some white ones? Put me down for two, what ever Rob,they won't be crap if you're doing them. And i think they should have a Heb on them and the pre '67 logo. Never mind a smart arss logo,it's an advertisment for the site and a way we can spot each other at shows.

OOPsy! actually only on there while I sorted my stock wheels and tyres out. But I cannot deny the power of the mightly Fuchs, they are beautiful old wheels. If they had been still og paint I would have fitted nice skinny tall tyres and kept them on. Owen's 50 currently has 50's 356 wheels on big tyres stock height, and will have his og paint old sprints on big tyres soon, so technically it is still a completely stock car but with genuine period accessory wheels, same as our samba. In fact a couple of years back there was a beautiful pearl white beetle featured that was stock but on 356 drums and wheels. I remember seeing it at Stonor park. Anyone remember it? ( I bet Rich O will!?) While on the topic, recently I have been re-reading my vw magazines, and in particular Uncle Keith Seume's Cal look archives (which I skipped over before  ) and he highlights how originally in the 60's the first beetles raced were standard height beetles, in fact proper nose up in the air! but with accessory/non stock wheels! :d LONG before people started lowering them which was a much later change in look. Despite being teased at the time for being able to get my head in my front arch over the wheel, I was actually being very cool and I didnt even know it! I am very suprised people nowadays are not copying that original 60's look, instead of following the same old boring lowered sheep look. Especially as furrowed beams are a modern invention by some fool who obviously never needed to drive round corners  Anyway! Yes split or oval on shirt, or some split initially, and then you could get some done with oval on later? ( might appeal to more people as there are more oval owners?) then I will have to have another 2!

Posted by: 54 Gertie - 19 April 2009 21:31:24
A nice split or oval sounds good! A heb or coachbuilt etc just seems a bit specialist! What about the rears of a split, oval and small window car all in line? :? :d In order of age!

Posted by: vintagebug - 23 April 2009 00:13:05
I know I probably shouldn't say this on here  .... but I really like the Historic VW Club's logo (a rear view of a split & an Oval). How about something like that, but without copying it, obviously  Say a close-up of just the rear windows and maybe add the rear view of a cabrio rear window as well? So, the t-shirt could look like this:- Pre67VW logo including the "stock, coachbuilt & old speed" on the front left of chest. Rear window views of a split, an oval & a cabrio across the back, with www.pre67vw.com also across the back, but below the three windows. And perhaps a slogan somewhere, although I think it might start to look a bit crowded then! :d

You have 2 ideal vehicles, park the kab and oval together and use them, they span the pre67 models in a nice way! The only problem is that photos of black cars are not good to use for artwork as the lines are hard to see to define. If that makes sense? Oh, I know you know what I am trying to say  then you could do a heb and split one next time round. I personally think although a great idea, getting 3 beetles on a shirt and text is hard to make look tidy with the loss of symmetry, unless they are parked tight and overlapping. But the pics posted by Austria were maybe easier to use.

1 x medium front print. Not a fan of white shirts though, you can't shove them in the washing machine with everything else and they look grubby after a while. However, ultramaroon would be a good colour...:d
... they're with the printers and will hopefully be ready in the next couple of days.
Great news Rob. Hopefully I'll be able to get mine asap as we'll be away from home after next Friday for the whole week leading up to Hessisch (we're flying from Scotland to a friend's wedding in Spain the weekend before HO then a few days holiday in the south of France, then flying from there up to HO before flying home again. It's taken a fair bit of organising, I can tell you. Thank God his wedding isn't a week later, I wouldn't like to have to let him down!! :d ). If they're not shipped before the end of next week will you be taking them to HO for folk?

T-Shirts are in, I'm pleased with them - I think the printer has done a nice job! So, £10 each + P&P seems a fair price to me (€12 + P&P). Or save the P&P and pick them up at BBT or Hessisch (this is the option I'd prefer because then I don't have to package them up and send them off!)

Posted by: 54 Gertie - 19 June 2009 20:53:14

Is there a chance of changing from print on back to print on front? If there is then no problem at all, I would hate to muck up your numbers!

Posted by: mrsherbie - 21 June 2009 20:35:46
Can I pickup at Peppercorn? Are you going? I dont think I am doing any more vw shows other than that ( 1 day only though) and Beachbuggin now, otherwise I will post you a Q. But I am happy to wait until after H.O. anyway. OR If you take them ALL and sell them at H.O, We are happy to have ours out of the next lot you get done, as they look great! So I am sure you might sell them to a few new people and end up taking orders for more anyway :d I like the H.O. photo idea!! 'pre67 does H.O. Cloverfield style'
