International Vintage Volkswagen Forums

heavy rain, possibly thunderstorms

That's a good reason to come!

Hi guys im still new to the vintage scene. Is Peppercorn worth going to for part hunting ( i have a 49 beetle standard). I ask because im very busy with work commitments and can't really afford to stop working over the weekend. But if you guys (especially Anna) think it will be worth my while going then please could you tell me.

Im not too fussed about seeing lots of examples of nice cars (it only depresses me as mine if far from 'nice' at the moment) It would be mearly a visit to look for parts as thats all i'll have time for.

Anyway your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

regards Lee

(oh '356 boy' do you actually have a 356 as i have a mate whos just sold his 6month old 911turbo and now has £100K burning his pocket. hes looking at buying a mint 356. wondered if you know of any for sale and any things to look out for when viewing? Email me if you could [email protected])

mines for sale for £100k, what a coincidence  be care of some bad resto's from the states and look for a carrera model. there going up and up and up

We are 30mins away, planning to head over at teatime, weather forecast just got a whole lot better for Fri night onwards 😃

Met office 5 day weather for Maidstone

I personally dont think you will find many parts for 49. Not enough to make the trip just on a parts hunt anyway. Far less than at Stanford Hall. We are taking very little as we just collected Owens Bay pickup from the restorer last night and it looks so beautiful! We are afraid to put anything in the back!

Met a few! 40's beetle owners at War & Peace yesterday but didnt see any gen not repro beetle parts for sale there either. I think we were the only beetle there at all this year? Loads of kubels and schwimmers though!
:D

maybe you can text me on Sunday morning to let me know if its worth going  I know a few years ago it was cancelled due to rain, and I don't think it was as much as today...

---

I'm still going to head down on Sunday.

😃

---

I still plan on going, but I don't want to drag the kids down just to be turned back at the gates...

---

Well, I expect I'll see you there then! 😃

---

I'll be there on Saturday with a type 4 Volkswagen van (dark grey metallic and a whit one)
Come and say hello!
