Authenticity Series - Part 2 - 1945-1949
Part 2 of our series on detail changes throughout the production of the VW Beetle, this time concentrates on the period when the VW factory was under British control. These cars are often referred to as 'CCG' Beetles, with reference to the The British military government known as the 'Control Commission of Germany' although later cars were also offered to civilians in important jobs such as Doctors.
Authenticity Series - Part 1 - Kdf-wagen
To some people, all Beetles look the same, whereas others can look at a Bug and tell you exactly what month of production it is. I thought it might be fun and useful to start a little series on Beetles, from early to late and highlight some of the changes over the years to help you identify cars at shows etc. We'll start out quite general and gradually get into more and more detail as we go on. Also, when restoring an old Beetle, if you want to get it all correct then it requires a lot of research to find out exactly when things changed, so that you can put it back to exactly how it was when it left the factory, hopefully this will help in that research too.

Ship of Theseus - the metaphysics of identity
The meta what now? It's an interesting idea about when an item is no longer original, such as how many parts can be replaced on your old car until it's no longer your old car.
Site re-fresh 2021
pre67vw has been around since 1999 and over the years the site has gone through quite a few designs, I felt it was looking a little too cluttered so it was time for another re-fresh.
VolksAuto Magazine - Issue 1
I've always loved magazines, I have cupboards full of them. Looking through all the magazines on the news stands, I always feel like there's not the perfect magazine for vintage VW people, so I decided I would try and make one...

Did Josef Ganz Design the Volkswagen Beetle?
Since Paul Schilperoord released his book and now TV documentary, the story has been publicised that Porsche 'stole' the design of the Volkswagen from Josef Ganz and Ganz was erased from the VWs history because he was Jewish. Here's my take and opinion on the story.
20 Years of www.pre67vw.com
October 2019 marks 20 years of pre67vw! Where did the time go? 20 years is quite a long time, a lot of things about our VW hobby have changed in that time, mostly the price of cars and parts!
Repuestos Sam, the Spare Parts Man
Even as little as 20 years ago, VW's weren't considered to be cars worthy of expensive restorations, and because of this very few people made correct parts for the rare models. Instead, you either had to spend years tracking down correct parts or modify a later part to make it look kinda right. These days everything has changed and its worthwhile people reproducing low quantities of high quality rare parts - Repuestos Sam is one of those people.
